Press Release: Tender Documents for the Cityringen Transportation System Released

2 October 2009: An important milestone in the construction of the new Metro in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg (Denmark) is reached today. Metroselskabet has just issued the tender material for the transportation system of the Cityringen to the four companies/consortia awarded prequalification in June this year.

It is now time for the tenderers to get down to work. During the next five months, they will prepare their financial and technical tenders for the supply of rolling stock and railway technical systems as well as for operation and maintenance of the system for the first five years after inauguration. Metroselskabet expects to select the winner during summer 2010.

The following four companies/consortia have been awarded prequalification:

  • Ansaldo STS (Italy
  • Bombardier Transportation Danmark A/S (Denmark)
  • Construcciones y Auxiliary de Ferrocarriles S.A. (CAF) (Spain) in consortium with Thales Transportation, Signalling and Security Solutions A/S (Denmark), Balfour Beatty Rail Danmark A/S (Denmark) and Keolis Nordic AB (Sweden)
  • Siemens A/S (Denmark) in consortium with Siemens STS (France), Siemens AG (Germany) and Hyundai ROTEM (Korea)

Civil Works Tender
On Friday, 9 October 2009, Metroselskabet will issue the tender documents for the construction of the Cityringen’s tunnels and stations.
