The Sydhavn extension will open in 2023

The metro extension to Sydhavn was approved by the Danish Parliament in February 2015. The extension will be 4.5 km long and consist of five new stations from Fisketorvet to Ny Ellebjerg. It is expected to open in 2023. The five stations will be part of a new metro line that goes through the Inner City and ends in the Nordhavn extension.

Five new stations
The extension will consist of four underground stations that will be situated at Fisketorvet, at Enghave Brygge, at Sluseholmen and on Mozarts Plads. The fifth station, Ny Ellebjerg, will be above-ground, and travellers will be able to change easily to regional and S-trains.

What is happening during the preparatory phases?

In 2016 the preparatory phases will have started at several of the coming station areas. In February the archaelogical excavations at Fisketorvet were completed, and in August the first utility relocations will begin at Mozarts Plads. In 2016 the procurement process will begin in order to find the entrepreneur that is to be in charge of the construction process.
