The Copenhagen Metro has two lines which run from suburban Vanløse to Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport, both situated on the island of Amager. See timetable here.
Tickets
You can purchase Metro tickets from the Metro ticket machines located in all Metro stations. Here you’ll also find special tickets for dogs and bicycles.
To and from the airport
The Copenhagen Metro runs to and from Copenhagen Airport. And the Metro is the fastest and cheapest way of getting to and from Downtown Copenhagen.

If you are planning a visit to Copenhagen, here are a few tricks and some good hints to what to see, where to go - and how to get around the city.

The Metro trains are driverless, but there is staff on board to assist customers. The Metro Stewards are present in the trains and on the stations.

The Copenhagen Metro has two lines which run from suburban Vanløse to Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport, both situated on the island of Amager. This makes the Metro both the fastest and cheapest way of getting from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre.

You can purchase Metro tickets from the Metro ticket machines located in all Metro stations (also on the Metro station in the airport). A single-ride two-zone ticket costs DKK 23 while a two-zone multi-ride ticket with ten clips (rides) costs DKK 135.

The Metro trains are driverless, but there is staff on board to assist customers.

Tickets

You can purchase Metro tickets from the Metro ticket machines located in all Metro stations. Here you’ll also find special tickets for dogs and bicycles. Children under the age of twelve travel free when accompanied by an adult – there is, however, a maximum of two children per adult. Children’s two-zone tickets cost DKK 11,50.

If you already have a valid Copenhagen Card, you can ride the Metro as much as you like at no extra charge.

To and from the airport

The Copenhagen Metro runs to and from Copenhagen Airport. The Metro station is located in Terminal 3, close to the airline check-in counters and the arrivals hall with its restaurants, shops, Starbucks, etc. With departures to and from the airport as often as every four minutes, you don’t need to plan anything in advance. The trip from the airport to the City takes just fourteen minutes.

Prices
A single ride ticket from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre costs DKK 34,50. A three-zone multi-ride ticket with ten clips (rides) costs DKK 175. If travelling as a group or family you are of course allowed to share the individual rides on a multi-ride ticket.

The Copenhagen Metro has two lines – M1 and M2 - which run from suburban Vanløse to Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport. This makes the Metro the fastest and cheapest way of getting from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre. At the airport the Metro station is located in Terminal 3, close to the arrival hall and airline check-in counters.

The ride from the airport to the city centre takes 12 minutes and costs from DKK 34,50. You can purchase Metro tickets from the Metro ticket machines located in all Metro stations, including the airport station. More about how to get to and from the airport here…
